In 2005, Ioannis Koumpanakis, already actively involved in the merchandising of cosmetics, envisioned the creation of a line of care products based on the extra virgin Cretan olive oil. Two years later, in 2007, his vision came to life with the establishment of the Olive Spa company which is mainly active in the production, packaging and merchandising of high quality natural soaps. The name of the company suggests the use of olive oil as a healing and wellness agent, since its beneficial properties for the human organism have been known since ancient times. The success of these soaps lead to the creation of the Olive Spa line, a complete line of cosmetics for face, body and hair based on the olive oil which was initially meant to cover the local market needs.
Within the following years, the distribution network of the company expanded throughout Greece. At the same time, the company continued to invest in research and in the development of new products. In 2010, this research lead to the creation of Naturelia, a line of cosmetics that uses emulsifiers, organic olive oil softeners and plant extracts with moisturizing, antioxidative, soothing, anti-ageing and cell regenerating properties.
In 2015, a landmark year for our company, the innovative Volcano Black Soap is produced, whose popularity will exceed all expectations and which will become the number one in sales soap in the tourist market. The company took an innovative step in the production of the specific soap, using volcanic water and lava rocks. About a year later, these innovative ingredients will be used for the creation of a complete line of cosmetics called Santo Volcano Spa. Within the same year, four more luxury soaps are launched, each of them distinctive and innovative in its own way, both in terms of ingredients and properties as well as of design. In 2018, twelve care products are added to the Santo Volcano Spa line and eighteen new codes are added to the line of luxury soaps.
Up to this day, the company has managed to get a foothold in more than 200 points of sale in tourist areas throughout Greece and expand its activity to seven countries abroad (Belgium, Germany, Cyprus, Netherlands, Romania, Sweden and Finland). At the same time, the company has set up an online shop in order to facilitate the home delivery of its products, thus establishing a worldwide communication bridge.
In 2018, the company moved to a larger space in the Industrial Area of Heraklion in order to be able to correspond to the increased demand for its products and continue to research, evolve and innovate.
